Memorial Day

on this day there are a lot of celebrations going on around our country.
we should never forget the men and women who sacrificed their
Lives for our country.Most all of us have relatives who fought in
A war or were a member of the armed services.My daddy fought in
World War 11. He talked very little about is time in the war.
I can't begin to imagine what that was like. I was in the army for
A short while and thankfully there was no war going on at the
Time.From my basic training I got an idea of what war was.
There is a good book by Sebastion Junger titled "War".He is a
Journalist who follows a combat troop in Afghanistan. It gives
A very realistic view of the troop's day to day life and what
They go through.
I thank all the soldiers out there fighting for our country.
They deserve more praise than they get

Walking the river trail

I have been walking along a beautiful river trail at a park near my
House.it is such a beautiful walk.about half a mile down
The trail there is a bench facing the river.I sat there
Yesterday and finished reading a book on my i pad. When you are
Quiet it is amazing what you hear and see. As I was reading
I felt like something was watching me.of course there
Are other people walking along the trail but this felt
Real close and when I would look around I would not see
Anything.finally I heard a noise and when I looked around
There was a squirrel peeping at me from around a tree.
When I turned he would duck back behind the tree.
When you stop and listen you see amazing things.

The love of brothers

Well, Today was reading my mail when the Fed Ex truck pulled in the driveway.I recieved a package and when I opened it I nearly fell over!!!In the box was an I Pad!!!!!!!!I just got so excited I started shaking for I have the best brother in the world!! I don't deserve the things he does for me and I love him so much.I just can't believe I am so blessed! I love you David and thank you.
Now to figure out how it works!

Gadgets

Well I did this yesterday but somehow lost it so will try to start over here.I wanted to talk about "gadgets" like computers.I love them but how many computers does one person need?I have a desktop and two laptops- one is an Apple Macbook which I love and use all the time.Now I want an Apple I Pad!!!I have changed my mind a few times about this but my brother, David, called the other day and he has one- I am jealous!!!so now I have to have one!!!If i could figure out how much to sell my desktop and other laptop  then I would have some money toward an I Pad!!!!The only reason i kept my desktop was because of my printer but it has been on the blink so went and bought a new wireless printer/ scanner and it is connected to the Macbook.I love it-another toy for me!!!If it was up to me I would have a laptop in every color!Now what is wrong with a person wanting things all the time?Is there a disease called "The wants"???If so I have it.Have a new cell-the Droid and it does everything-even the internet.The modern technological world is amazing, isn't it?wonder what is gonna come on the market next?Well the one gadget that is my most prized possession is an Apple I Pod Nano.My brother, David , gave it to me on my 63rd birthday and even had it engraved!Plus it is red- my favorite color.Talking about red I have figured out that is why I do not like my new car.The last 3-4 cars I have had have been red- yes cars are something else I like.I get that honest- from my Daddy and his sister.My aunt bought cars almost as much as she changed clothes!!She is 86 and still talking about getting a new car when I saw her last!! Well this time I decided to get a different color so got a dark steel gray.It really is a pretty car but it is not RED!!!Well gotta go and figure how I am gonna get the money for an I Pad!!!

The Trouble with Tech Support

Well had trouble with getting on the internet yesterday and today so called tech support.Why can't the support people be somewhere in the United States and speak English??I was on the phone over an hour yesterday with one guy- hard to understand.well he after all that time did not solve my problem.Called again today-this one was a little easier to understand but he did something entirely different than the one yesterday and he got the problem solved!It seems like the solution would be the same but I have had the same problem in the past.End up having to call two times and each assistant does different things!I dread these calls for I end up on the phone almost 2 hours and about half of that time is trying to understand what they are saying!!!

Cars

Well, finally on my way home.Even though I don't like the mountains it was a beautiful drive through the virginias.The traffic was amazingly light except for trucks but were not too many of those.Just put the car on cruise and enjoyed the drive.With the traffic light i did not have to reduce my speed too much.I noticed somwthing the other day.With all the controversy over Toyota that a majority of the cars I 

passed were Toyota's! I lease my car and just got a Chevy Malibu.It is advertised to be one of the best cars on the road and supposed to get 33 MPH on the highway but mine uses a lot of gas or seems to.I think my problem is that before I got the Malibu I had a red Impala and really loved that car!It was the best driving car on a trip and very good on gas.The only reason I did not get another Impala was the monthly payment was too high this time.Really I think the main reason I don't like the Malibu is it is not red!!!I love red cars but decided this time to try a different color so got a dark metallic steel gray.It is a pretty color and sometimes looks almost black.I like the interior- it is black with leather seats and of course I have a sunroof! It really is a nice car. wonder what the dealer would say if I took it back and told him I wanted my Impala back??

Family Problems

Well am a little disgusted with my aunt today.told her I was going home Tuesday and she seemed not to like it too well.Have been here since April 2 and had promised her a few months ago I would come stay a month with her but did not count on getting here and her having to have hip surgery! well actually if I had not come she would still be walking on a broken hip!She is doing great and walking well with a walker and I see no reason she can't manage on her own now.She leaves the rehab hosp tomorrow so I will be there with her tomorrow night.why do people not appreciate things you do for them?I helped her because I love her and wanted to but it has been an inconvenience for me and I am ready to go home.Also it is not like this aunt has ever done anything special for me but that does not matter.She seems to think I should stay with her or so it seems that way to me.She o nly has me and my brothers and is lucky i have been here for her.I know she loves us but she is a very unhappy person.She has very few friends and seems to not have much good to say about anyone.I guess some people are just that way.I guess I am just a sucker trying to help but must be my calling in life for being a nurse that is all I have ever done.I feel sorry for people no matter how they treat me.Well anyway I AM going home Tuesday -she will be ok for I have seen to that whe will have someone coming to her home to help her till she gets around good.Can't win every battle.
